He has inherited the traditional Kakiemon style into the modern era, and has further evolved the muddy style established by his predecessor to produce wonderful works with outstanding depiction and high sense. This is a work by the 14th generation Sakaida Kakiemon, a leading figure who has made great achievements, including being designated a Living National Treasure for Arita ware colored porcelain.

The "Flower Pattern" is a very popular subject, with light, free-flowing brushstrokes and a clean, unobtrusive color scheme on a milky white, opaque base, creating a bright and beautiful painting. It is a superb piece with perfectly balanced shapes, vivid, realistic painting, and dense drawings with beautiful white space.

The works of the Juyondai porcelain wares, which carry the 400-year history of Arita, continue to enjoy ever-increasing acclaim and will no doubt continue to receive much attention in the future.

Very few agarwood vases were produced, and there are very few in existence even in catalogues of past exhibitions.
