Kazuo Yagi
In 1918, Yagi Kazuso was born in Kyoto as the eldest son.
In 1948, he founded the group "Sodeisha" with Suzuki Osamu and others. They became pioneers of "object" pottery, with its innovative and attractive shapes.
In 1950, he exhibited his work at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Cienneschi Museum in Paris. In 1959, he exhibited his work at the 2nd International Ceramic Exhibition (Belgium) and won the Grand Prix.
In 1966, he held the "Yagi Kazuo Works Exhibition" at the Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art. He was invited to exhibit at the Japan Art Festival (New York).
He passed away in 1979.
