The 6th generation Rokubei Shimizu
Born in 1901. Died in 1980. Born in Kyoto. Born as the eldest son of Rokubei V. After graduating from Kyoto City Painting College, he learned general ceramics from his father. In 1945, he took on the name Rokubei VI. While protecting the traditions of Kyoto ware, he was also enthusiastic about new techniques, creating new techniques such as Kokisai. Member of the Japan Art Academy. Award of Cultural Merit.
