Minori Yoshida
Born in 1932 in Ishikawa Prefecture. In 1951, he took over the business of Kinzan Kiln. In 1963, he won the Prefectural Governor's Award at the 2nd Kutani Ware New Works Exhibition. After that, he was selected for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, and the Chunichi International Ceramic Art Exhibition several times, and won several awards at the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, the Issuikai Ceramic Art Exhibition, the Traditional Kutani Ceramic Art Exhibition, and the Industrial Crafts Exhibition. In 1981, he was recommended as a regular member of the Japan Crafts Association. In 1984, he won the Encouragement Award at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and the Chunichi International Ceramic Art Exhibition (he won again the following year). In 1992, he won the Takamatsunomiya Memorial Award at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition. In the same year, he was certified as a skill holder of the Ishikawa Prefecture Intangible Cultural Property Kutani Ware Technique Preservation Society. In 1995, he won the Japan Ceramic Association Award. He became an auditor for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition. In 1997, he won the International Colored Ceramics Fair '97. In 2001, he was recognized as a holder of the Purple Ribbon Medal and an Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure) for "Glittering Gold Painting."
