He has received numerous awards, including the Encouragement Award at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, the Prime Minister's Award at the 1st Western Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, the Japan Ceramic Association Award, and the Japan Ceramic Association Gold Award in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of its founding.
In 2007, he was recognized as a holder of an Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure).
