Koheiji Miura
Born in 1933 in Niigata Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. Studied under Miura Kohei and Kato Hashimoe. Received the Asahi Shimbun Award at the Contemporary Japanese Ceramic Art Exhibition in 1962. Received the Excellence Award at the Traditional Crafts New Works Exhibition in 1967. Received the Minister of Education Award at the Japanese Traditional Crafts Exhibition in 1976. Received the Gold Award from the Japan Ceramic Association in 1992. Received a special scholarship at the Japanese Traditional Crafts Exhibition in 1993. Recognized as a holder of the Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure) for "Celadon".
