Kanjiro Kawai
Born in 1890. Died in 1966. Born in Shimane Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo Technical Higher School.
After passing the Kyoto Ceramic Experiment Station, he opened the Shokei Kiln in Gojozaka in 1920. He later developed the folk craft movement and helped establish the Japan Folk Crafts Museum.
