3rd Generation Tsuneyama Yamada
He was born in 1924 as the eldest son of the second generation Jozan, a ceramist of red clay teapots, in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture. In 1961, he held his first solo exhibition in Nagoya. He took on the name Jozan III. In 1975, he became chairman of the Tokoname Handmade Teapot Association when it was founded. In 1986, he became a director of the Japan Sencha Crafts Association. In 1998, he was recognized as an Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure) for Tokoname Ware (teapot). He passed away in 2005.
