Sekisui Ito
He was born in 1941 as the eldest son of the 4th Sekisui in Sado County, Niigata Prefecture.
In 1972, he won his first award at the 19th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition. In 2003, his Mumyoi-yaki ware was recognized as an Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure).
