Born in 1947 in Nara Prefecture.
From the age of 19, he spent three years living and training at the Sanshoji Zen temple (Soto sect) in Nara. At the age of 31, he held a solo exhibition in Osaka, which caught the eye of antique dealer, the late Kondo Kingo. Since then, he has held solo exhibitions not only in Japan but also overseas, including in the United States and Germany.
