At the age of 14, she founded the Tsuji Ceramic Research Institute with her sister, Teruko Tsuji, and began studying under Kenkichi Tomimoto and Hazan Itaya at the same time.
Received the Gold Award from the Japan Ceramic Association. In 2006, was appointed an honorary citizen of Tokyo.
