Born in 1914. Died in 2004. Born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture.
Influenced by his father, who was close to artists such as Toyo Kaneshige, he aspired to become a potter. He worked for a company until the end of the war, but studied under Toyo Kaneshige to learn kiln firing techniques.
In 1986, he was recognized as a traditional craftsman and received the Okayama Nichi Nichi Shimbun Award. As a traditional craftsman that Bizen is proud of, he was praised as "the god of sake vessel making" and "Rokuro the Tokkuri."
