Born in 1934. Died in 1995. Born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture. Eldest son of Toyo Kaneshige.
After graduating from Kanazawa University of Art and Design with a degree in crafts, he studied under his father, Kaneshige Toyo, and became active as a potter.
He received the 3rd Kaneshige Toyo Award and the Japan Ceramic Association Award, among others. In 1990, he was recognized as an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Okayama Prefecture.
