The Raku family, a family of tea bowl makers who make Raku ware tea bowls, has inherited the name. It is one of the Ten Sen Craftsmen who make the authentic tea utensils of the Sen family. It has a history of over 400 years, including the current 16th generation.
The entire house, including the teahouse and kiln, has been designated a national registered cultural property.
