Mineo Okabe
Born in 1919. Died in 1990. Born in Aichi Prefecture. Eldest son of Tokuro Kato. Graduated from the Prefectural Seto Ceramic School.
After returning from the war, he won the Nitten Hokuto Prize, the Prague International Ceramic Art Exhibition Grand Prix, the Japan Kogei Association Encouragement Prize, and the Brussels World Expo Grand Prix.
He has been independent since 1963. He pursued celadon at the Hiradobashi kiln. In 1970, he moved to another kiln and perfected beiiro celadon.
