Born in Tokyo in 1937, Kikuchi studied metal carving at the Tokyo Fine Arts School, and later studied glass art in Italy. Kyohei Fujita is a world-renowned Japanese glass craftsman who has established his own unique style of glass art in Japan and has been honored with the Japan Art Academy, the Order of Cultural Merit, and the Order of Cultural Merit, and has gained worldwide recognition. This work is one of his best-known and highly acclaimed works. His technique of sublimating delicate shading into a highly refined masterpiece is truly divine.
