As a teacher at the National Ceramic Testing Institute under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, he engaged in basic research on iron glazes (Tenmoku glazes) and base materials, and devoted himself to the study of Tenmoku glazes in Gojozaka, Kyoto. After establishing his own unique technique, he served as an auditor for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and a director of the Japan Crafts Association, and is still popular today. This masterpiece by the highly popular artist, Kimura Morikazu, has many fans today. His artistic talent can be seen in the way he arranged the techniques representative of ancient Chinese ceramics with his own unique expression and elevated them to new works.
