Born in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. After studying pottery at the Seto Ceramics Training School, Goro Suzuki rose to prominence when his work was first selected for the Nitten Exhibition in 1962, subsequently winning numerous awards. While pursuing Momoyama-style ceramics using artisan wheel-throwing techniques and natural materials, he continues to create highly original works such as "Hawaii Oribe" and "Los Angeles Oribe" rather than mere imitations.
