Asakura Isokichi III is the third generation owner of Fukako Pottery. He uses colored glazes inherited from the first and second generations, and sometimes uses platinum as well. He mainly uses thick bases, carving out the outlines of the patterns to create a three-dimensional effect and a heavy finish. He not only paints the wares, but also shapes them himself, and his creations are heavy and dynamic. Among the deep-hued glazes, the subtle color that is a mixture of brown and yellow is known as the "Isokichi color."
