Koichi Uchida is constantly challenging himself with new works, making full use of various shapes, glazes and engraved patterns, and the piece he is exhibiting this time is a flat vase with engraved patterns. Uchida has a deep knowledge of Chinese ceramics, such as tri-colored glazes, and this piece is thought to have been made using the scraping technique. The design is reminiscent of Kazuo Yagi's work and is impressive.
