This is a work by Kitaoji Rosanjin, who was praised as an artist of one generation, and who blossomed his talents in pottery, calligraphy, painting, and other fields, while also being known as a gourmet. The inside of the lid of this sake cup states that it was given to Hoshigaoka Saryo by its co-owner, Nakamura Takeshiro, in July 1930.
