This is a work by the Living National Treasure of Kutani ware, Tokuda Yasokichi III, in his final years. It bears the seal "Yasokichi in gold lettering." "Reimei" has a vivid color and presence. This special work, entitled "Reimei" (Dawn), features a beautiful gradation of blue, green and yellow. According to Yasokichi, "When I went fishing in the sea off Izu, I was moved by the beauty of the sunrise over the Pacific Ocean, and I expressed that. It is the only figurative expression in my work." The use of glazes that emit a variety of colors gives it a sense of elegance and dignity. This work, which has a special title, is an extremely rare gem among the works of Tokuda Yasokichi III.
