In 1980, Saeki Morimi was recommended as a full member of the Japan Crafts Council, and has since received numerous awards, including the Traditional Crafts New Works Exhibition Encouragement Award in 1988, the Tochigi Prefecture Cultural Encouragement Award, and the International Ceramics Excellence Award in the same year.He has also held numerous solo exhibitions at famous department stores and galleries such as Ginza Kuroda Touen, Ginza Wako, and Takashimaya Nihonbashi, gaining popularity through his superb works.

After being impressed by the tree shapes that stood out against the autumn scenery, he started to create fantastical works of art using ceramic carvings of trees. This is a wonderful and tasteful piece that beautifully depicts cherry blossoms in full bloom.
