This is a work by the great potter Sakaida Kakiemon 13th (1906-1982) who, together with his father, the 12th generation, revived the once-declining Nigote style, boasting the greatest skill of any Kakiemon in history, and built the foundation for the prosperity of modern Kakiemon. The design of millet quail is carefully painted, stroke by stroke, on the beautiful moist milky white base that is unique to Nigote.
