This is the last work by Tokuda Yajukichi III, a living national treasure of Kutaniyaki. It is marked “Hachijukichi with gold lettering.
The glaze flows beautifully, a characteristic of Tokuda Hachijukichi III, and the clear, glass-like cobalt blue of this work is further accentuated by the highly finished form.
The gradation of cobalt blue and yellow is so beautiful that you almost feel like you are being sucked in.
