This is a work by the Living National Treasure Imaizumi Imaemon 13. It is a masterpiece made using the "fuki-kasane" technique, which he created in his final years. Fuki-kasane is a technique in which gosu is sprayed onto the main design area, and then light ink is sprayed over the entire area, creating a background color in which the color tone gradually changes from indigo to gray. Imaemon 13 invented this technique around 1990, and although the color did not come out well at first, he re-examined the technique from the late 1990s, and after repeated research, established it in his later years. There are only a few of his works, and only a few are exhibited in the catalogue, making this a very valuable masterpiece that should be passed on to the next generation.
