Yamamoto Kazuhiro was born in Nagasaki in 1944. He learned Arita ware by himself and started researching pure platinum color at the age of 41. He is a famous artist who uses 98% pure platinum and is the only person in the world to create pottery using "pure platinum". The small raised patterns are made by applying a muddy layer of clay 20 to 30 times to create a three-dimensional finish, and then applying platinum on top of that using the same method.

He continues to work patiently and patiently in silence until he completes a unique piece. Yamamoto began training in Arita/Imari ware in his hometown of Saga Prefecture in 1969, and is famous for perfecting the Platinum Color technique, which he began using in 1985, using high-purity platinum.

This unique technique allows the colour and lustre of the porcelain to be enhanced, creating a colour scheme that is different from the previously known layered underglaze and overglaze paints of gold, red and blue.

In 2010, he had a special invitational exhibition at the National Museum of Ceramic Art in Valencia, Spain. His artistic talent was recognized as a "ceramic jewel" by the Honorary President of the Catalan Ceramic Society, and Yamamoto's collection has come to be admired worldwide.
