Born in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, he studied pottery making at the Seto Ceramics Training School and distinguished himself with his first award at the Nitten Exhibition in 1962, going on to win numerous awards. While pursuing Momoyama pottery using artisanal wheel techniques and natural materials, he continues to produce highly original works such as "Hawaii Oribe" and "Los Oribe" that are not mere imitations.
