Kyohei Fujita (1921-2004) was a renowned Japanese glass artist. After studying metal engraving at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts, he switched to glass art. Utilizing his knowledge of metalwork, he developed a unique technique for fusing gold and silver leaf into glass, pioneering a new field of glass art.
His representative works include "Fluid Glass" and "Decorative Boxes," but his "Hand-Blown Venice" series is also extremely famous. Since 1977, he has been producing in Venice, Italy, and the techniques and sensibilities he developed there are reflected in his works.
The "Hand-blown Venice Tea Bowl" is one of Kyohei Fujita's glass tea bowls, a work that combines the delicate design of hand-blown glass with the characteristics of Venetian glass.
