Style and characteristics
Hayama's works are characterized by detailed depictions and narratives that are inspired by historical settings such as ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, India, China, and Japan.
A fusion of tradition and innovation While inheriting the traditions of Hizen ceramics, they have refined their techniques and added their own unique innovations. Their work has been highly praised for its intricate depictions that seem beyond human achievement.
"Around 2,000 years ago, there was a road connecting Rome in the west and Chang'an in the east, a route for the exchange of Eastern and Western civilizations. This road, which would later be called the Silk Road, also connected the oases scattered throughout the desert. The oases were a paradise in the desert, a place of rest and longing for caravans. Cultural artifacts from the East and West were exchanged here, with silk and ceramics being carried west, and glassware, religion, and patterns being carried east."
