He exhibited works such as "Yuzen Suru Monotachi" at the "Venice Biennale," an international exhibition of contemporary art, and received his first international print award there.

Shiko Munakata established a unique compositional style and created works using a technique called *urajiro*, where color is applied from the back of the print paper.

He also met Sōetsu Yanagi, who recognized his talent, and deepened his interactions with potters who, as part of the "Mingei Movement," utilized the "beauty of use" in everyday objects.

Shiko Munakata's "Tanizaki Kaka Hanga Saku" is a series of woodblock prints based on twenty-four *waka* poems personally selected by the literary master Jun'ichirō Tanizaki. Tanizaki entrusted Munakata with the poems he had chosen, resulting in a series of prints that integrate text and imagery, holding a significant position among Munakata's works with poetic themes.
