Kazuhiko Miwa, whose birth name is the 13th Kyusetsu Miwa, was born into a prestigious family representing Hagi ware. While inheriting the "Kyusetsu White" hakuhagi glaze perfected by the 11th Kyusetsu, he is also highly regarded for his powerful and abstract forms.

"Fuchi-Fuchi Hai" is the name of one of Kazuhiko Miwa's representative white Hagi Guinomi (sake cups). The white Hagi glaze is greatly shrunken, allowing the black slip underneath to show through the cracks, creating a very striking contrast between white and black. It is introduced as a refined yet powerful sake vessel, combining the soft whiteness of Kyusetsu White with the shrunken glaze and the tension of the vessel's form.
