Michio Furutani (February 16, 1946 – July 19, 2000) was a Shigaraki ware ceramic artist. Born in Shiga Prefecture, he studied under Kunio Uchida. Throughout his life, he built over 30 kilns in Shigaraki and Iga, exploring the art of pottery through kiln modifications and other techniques. He built his first kiln based on the "Goinoki" ancient kiln located on the border of Shiga and Mie prefectures.
