Born in Kyoto as the second son of Yonezawa Soho, the younger brother of the second-generation Suwa Sozan, and later became the second-generation's adopted son.
1955: Graduated from the Ceramic Arts Department of Kyoto City University of Fine Arts
1970: Succeeded the name of the third-generation Suwa Sozan
1971: Appointed as a judge of the Kofu-kai
1976: Appointed as a judge of the Kyoto City Art Exhibition
2002: Passed the family headship to his third daughter, Koki, and changed his name to "Genshin" after retiring
2005: Passed away
Based on traditional techniques, he established an elegant and clear glaze style along with a refined and unique artistic style.
