Height (4.3cm) Diameter (6.3cm)

This was made by the great potter Ishiguro Munemaro (1893-1968), who was the first Japanese potter to be designated as a holder of an important intangible cultural property (living national treasure) when the system of holders of important intangible cultural properties was launched in 1955, along with Tomimoto Kenkichi, Hamada Shoji, and Arakawa Toyozo. This is a very well-made, illustrated Karatsu sake cup that shows a fulfilling style of work. When you look at this work, taking into account that it was made by a self-taught artist, you will be impressed by the richness of his talent.
