After wandering around the country, Kobayashi Tougo arrived on the Korean Peninsula, where he became fascinated by Joseon pottery that had already been forgotten there. After studying excavated pottery fragments, he succeeded in recreating it. In 1981, he revived the Taishu Kiln on Tsushima Island and produced many masterpieces of Joseon porcelain, such as Ido, Kohiki, Okukoryo, Mishima, and Hakeme.
