Suzuki Kura has been earnestly pursuing the essence of Momoyama Shino ware in modern times by firing in gas kilns, and his works have been recognized for their presence and autonomy, leading to him being designated a Living National Treasure for his "Shino" ware in 1994. This Shino piece, full of atmosphere, is a fusion of Momoyama and modern times, creating a new Shino style. The box is made by the venerable Ando Kiribakoten.
