Influenced by his father, an antique art lover, Tsuji developed a keen artistic sensibility from an early age and studied pottery. After receiving training from Japan's leading potters such as Tomimoto Kenkichi and Itaya Hazan, he opened a kiln in Tama City, Tokyo. Aiming to express the aesthetic sense known as "bright sabi," he created pottery centered on Shigaraki and Yakishime, and quickly rose to become a great potter. The works of the genius Tsuji Seimei are collected not only in Japan but all over the world.
