He studied traditional techniques such as Ko-Kutani, Yoshidaya and Akae techniques, and created his own deep, thick glazes. He trained the second and third generation Yasokichi as well as Asakura Isokichi, and is a leading figure in modern Kutani overglaze ware. His works are highly acclaimed for their refined coloring techniques and precise painting. The inside of the pot is filled with pictures of rabbits and cranes.
