Takuo Kato has made a great achievement by reproducing Persian pottery such as lusterware, san-cai, and blue-glazed pottery through his own unique training, and has also received the MOA Grand Prize, the highest honor in the ceramics world, and been designated as a holder of an Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure). Takuo Kato's lusterware, which was created by adding a Japanese sensibility to the reproduction of Persian lusterware, emits a calm glow when exposed to light.
