This black sake bottle was made by Oiwa Tomoyuki, who learned pottery techniques under Kakurezaki Ryuichi. He built a self-designed anagama kiln in Kamigori, Hyogo Prefecture. It was fired with the aim of achieving strong firing, and the high heat transformed the black of the clay into a beautiful color, resulting in a glossy, clear black color similar to that of his teacher Kakurezaki. In terms of the shape, he also thoroughly pursued three-dimensional beauty, reminiscent of his teacher Kakurezaki Ryuichi.
