This is a wonderful piece of work by Jun Takekoshi, a popular artist representing modern Kutani colored porcelain and holder of the Important Intangible Cultural Property of Ishikawa Prefecture, who is a potential candidate for a future Living National Treasure. The work is a delicate depiction of a crow and gourd, with vivid coloring and original brushwork and composition. The sense of balance in the arrangement is also excellent. The piece is filled with the beauty of nature and has a wonderful presence.
