This is a work by the Living National Treasure of Kutani ware, Tokuda Yasokichi III, from his final years. It was created after he was designated a national treasure, and pieces with inscriptions in gold are extremely popular. This particular piece is in the "Yosai" style, which he used only in his final years, and his signature design, "Kougawa", is currently difficult to obtain. The radiant glaze tones born from the interweaving of colors in the glaze are in a state no one has been able to access, and as can be seen from the inscription "Yosai", this is a work of art to be passed down to future generations, into which the artist poured his all.
