Takuo Kato has made a great achievement by reproducing Persian pottery such as lusterware, san-cai, and blue-glazed pottery through his own unique training, and has also received the MOA Grand Prize, the highest honor in the ceramics world, and been designated an Important Intangible Cultural Property Holder (Living National Treasure). Takuo Kato's lusterware, created by adding a Japanese sensibility to the reproduction of Persian lusterware, emits a calm glow when exposed to light.
