After graduating from the Department of Design, Crafts, Tokyo School of Fine Arts, he studied under Kato Hachimoe. Later, while working as an assistant to Tomimoto Kenkichi, he mastered the techniques of overglaze porcelain. He established his own unique coloring technique, "Glow Painting Color," and his skills were so highly praised that he was recognized as a Living National Treasure for his overglaze porcelain in 1986. Fujimoto Yoshimichi is one of Japan's leading overglaze porcelain artists, and has also worked hard to train the next generation, including serving as professor and president of Tokyo University of the Arts. This elegantly painted piece depicts a beautiful eggplant with precise depiction.
