This is a masterpiece by Kawakita Handeishi, who was born into a wealthy merchant family in Tsu, Ise Province, and was a businessman who held important positions in companies, including as president of the Hyakugo Bank, but who also demonstrated a wide range of artistic talents in calligraphy, painting, the tea ceremony, haiku, photography, and more, and was praised as "Rosanjin of the East and Handeishi of the West."
