Kazuyoshi Kitamura of Kutani Yaki Taketaka Kiln not only creates traditional pieces, but also creates many innovative pieces based on traditional techniques, such as sneakers, beetles, and fake nails, conveying the diverse charms of Kutani ware. "I want to convey the charm of Kutani ware with impact," he says.

This piece was also made using traditional Kutani ware techniques. The design also makes use of traditional Kutani patterns, adding color with a patchwork-like technique. The traditional colors known as the five Kutani colors are mixed with boiled seaweed to give the painted areas a raised, three-dimensional look and improve the texture. In addition, real gold is used and the careful and dazzling handiwork shines through everywhere. The bicycle is a custom-made item made by Takaoka Copperware. It is an extremely difficult task to bake it to match the bicycle. The cute frog does not hop, but instead rides the bicycle with its muffler fluttering, making it an adorable sight. The back view is also surprisingly cute.

It comes with a special acrylic display case so it won't get dusty.

The Japan Mastery Collection, a luxury brand from Japan that aims to revitalize local areas, opened at Haneda Airport's Terminal 3 on December 22nd. His works are on display there, and he is currently very active as a leader among Japan's leading Kutani ware artists.
