In 1980, he was recommended as a full member of the Japan Crafts Council, and since then he has received numerous awards, including the Traditional Crafts New Works Exhibition Encouragement Award in 1988, the Tochigi Prefecture Cultural Encouragement Award, and the International Ceramics Excellence Award in the same year.He has also held numerous solo exhibitions at famous department stores and galleries such as Ginza Kuroda Touen, Ginza Wako, and Takashimaya Nihonbashi, gaining popularity through his superb works.

After he was impressed by the shape of the Zelkova tree that stood out against the autumn scenery, he started creating fantastical ceramic sculptures of trees. These are wonderful, tasteful pieces.
