This work was created by Order of Culture recipient Yaichi Kusube in 1935. Yaichi Kusube is a world-renowned master craftsman who represents Japan. He has continued his research for half a century, and his unique style of "saien," which involves layering thinly colored porcelain clay to create patterns, is unique to Yaichi Kusube.

The range of his work is wide and diverse, with celadon, white porcelain, blue and white porcelain, and gold brocade being among the most popular.

This piece uses plenty of gold and colored paint.
