Born in Honami, Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, as the second son of Kei Fujiwara (a Bizen ware pottery artist, holder of an important intangible cultural property, and a living national treasure). His real name was Kyosuke.
His older brother, Fujiwara Yu, is a holder of an Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure) like his father.
1957: Graduated from Okayama Prefectural Shizutani High School (now Okayama Prefectural Wake Shizutani High School).
Graduated from Tokyo Bunka Gakuin's Western Painting Department in 1961.
From 1961 to 1964, he trained at the Gifu Prefectural Ceramic Testing Laboratory (now the Gifu Prefectural Ceramics Research Institute) in Tomoto-cho, Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture.
In 1965, he built a kiln in Momo no Sato, Tamasu, Kita-ku, Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture. Making use of his experiences in Tajimi, he began producing Mino-style Shino, Oribe, Tenmoku, and Kiseto ware.
1966: First solo exhibition at Okayama Tenmaya.
In 1971, he began researching "Bizen Shino," which incorporates the natural changes of Bizen and the unique softness of Shino. Bizen Shino uses the same glaze as Shino, but is fired in the same way as Bizen ware.
In 1982, he took on Fumiaki Kishi as his disciple.
In 1983, Fumiaki married Kyosuke's eldest daughter and changed his surname to Fujiwara Fumiaki.
